Mandy Sketch

It's been a while since I posted any Kaiju Girl pics, and this one's been lying around in my sketch book for over a month, so I decided to finish and post it, as a little test run for the design technique I may be using for my Daikaiju Academy art. This is fan-art for Mandy the Manda Kaiju Girl.

Early in development of this design, I wanted to reboot her whole appearance, go for a more realistic style by giving her a full scale pattern; I've learned recently that I've got some difficulty in duplicating natural, repeating patterns like scales, so I gave up on that, and I'll probably stick to the classic anime art style. I did upgrade her appearance with spikes and horns, most of which weren't present on the original design.

I think that for now on, I'm going to try and stick to digital final images for stuff like this, simply because my sketchwork pieces just don't look clean enough, it's just to unprofessional looking to be a proper pin-up. Hopefully I'll be able to make some more drawings, both of classic kaiju girls and the new Rim and Jaeger girls, very soon!
